Every project is different, yet one philosophy stays the same, "Get the best talent you can and the project will be better off or your efforts." Ultimately sacrifices are made during the casting process due to time and budgetary constraints. If there's not enough time to see hundreds of potentials for a particular part or project, the perfect cast can't be hired.
About CastEngine
CASTENGINE.NET was created by feature film director / producer, Daniel E. Springen in 2006.
After overseeing six films into worldwide distribution he decided that it was time to take the casting process in another direction.
He found that in most cases there hadn't been enough actors called to the local casting sessions. He had seen great performances, but overall, not enough talent.
By creating CASTENGINE.NET he can now look through virtually thousands of headshots prior to the start of casting and make sure that the ones he really likes will make it to the audition.
CASTENGINE.NET will allow the casting process to begin much earlier in the pre-production stage of filmmaking. It can also alleviate some of the hard costs associated with casting such as flights, hotels, rental cars, etc.
The biggest advantage though, is options. You want to be seen and they want to see you. No director wants to choose between three actors for a part in their film. They want options and they can get them, they can get you, at CASTENGINE.NET.
